Affiliate disclosure
How a magazine funded by software commissions keeps its editing honest: which links pay, what a commission does not buy, and how to read the toolkit.
Obi Follow Up is an independent publication. We are not GoHighLevel, we are not owned by HighLevel, Inc., and we are not an official partner or reseller. Everything we publish is edited by us and paid for by commissions on the software we use.
The short version
Some links on this site are affiliate links, almost all of them on the toolkit page. If you click one and start a trial or subscription, HighLevel may pay us a commission. You pay the same price either way. The commission comes out of HighLevel's revenue, not out of your pocket, and it does not change the plan, the features or the support you receive.
Which links are affiliate links
- Links to
gohighlevel.comare affiliate links. They carry a referral parameter and are marked in the HTML withrel="sponsored nofollow". - Buttons and inline calls to action that say "Start the free trial" point to the affiliate link.
- Links to third-party sources (FCC, HHS, Google, the U.S. Census, Twilio) are not affiliate links. We do not earn anything from them.
- We do not run display ads, sponsored posts or paid placements.
Every page that contains an affiliate link says so in the footer, and article CTAs carry a short note next to the button.
What the commission does not buy
- It does not buy a positive review. We publish the usage costs, the limits and the cases where the platform is the wrong purchase.
- It does not buy placement. No vendor has ever reviewed a draft of anything on this site.
- It does not buy a ranking. We do not rank tools by commission rate, because we only cover one platform in depth.
- It does not change the price. We do not have discount codes, coupons or promotional pricing, and we do not invent them.
Why we use affiliate links at all
Because it is the cleanest way to fund independent software writing without ads, sponsored content or a paid newsletter. The alternative models all create worse incentives: a course sells hope, an agency sells implementation, and ads sell attention. A commission on a subscription you keep or cancel on your own terms is the least intrusive of the options.
If you would rather not use our link, that is completely fine. Go to gohighlevel.com directly, and the guides still work. Nothing on this site is gated.
FTC compliance
This disclosure is written to satisfy the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255). The connection is disclosed clearly and near the link, not buried in a legal page only. If you believe a disclosure is missing or unclear somewhere on the site, email hello@obifollowup.com and we will fix it.
One more thing
We publish guides about GoHighLevel because we use it and because local businesses keep asking what it actually does. The commission is a side effect of that, not the reason the guides exist. If the platform stops being a reasonable choice for a trade, the guide will say so even though the link still pays.
